Partnership with Florida International University
After-School All-Stars is a partnership between the FIU College of Education and the national After-School All-Stars program that serves more than 5,000 students yearly throughout Miami-Dade County. The program helps students living in at-risk communities with teacher-led homework help, introduces students to different career options and uses sports to teach them a healthy lifestyle to name a few. The College of Arts. Science and Education contributes their experienced faculty, who are developing teaching methods to help students succeed in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) courses. The program also benefits the College of Arts, Science and Education students by giving them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience teaching young people.
Year Round & Summer High School Program
Our mission is to empower high school students to succeed in entering college and pursuing college-enabled careers. We expand students’ academic and career pathways through foundational support, enriching academic experiences, mentoring, and immersive college and career exploration.
Year Round & Summer Program for Middle Schoolers
FIU After-School All-Stars offers summer programming for the middle school-aged students through a myriad of projects funded by 21st Century Schools and others . The summer program is hosted at various schools throughout Miami-Dade County and runs typically from June through July for several weeks throughout the year, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information can be provided through a school nearest you offering our year-round afterschool programs, or call the main office at 305-348-7904 for more information.
The aim of the camp is to provide a meaningful learning experience for students in the areas of Academics, STEAM and Sports. A nutritious breakfast, a lunch and a light snack are provided daily for each student. Transportation is also provided on a need basis; for specifics, contact the school in your area offering the program.
Our After-Care Program
Although this part of After-School All-Stars is not a part of the overall FIU program, we’re committed to serving students during their elementary years through personal and academic enrichment, to build stronger students, mentally, physically, and academically.
